Adolescent Literacy

According to the most current National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) scores (2015), 66% of eighth-grade students in the United States cannot read proficiently, and this percentage has held relatively steady for the past 25 years. To address student learning and the need to prepare students for success beyond K–12, Lexia has developed an instructional product for non-proficient readers in grades 6 and above that is now available for home use!

The use of complex texts in middle and high school presupposes that students have already mastered fundamental literacy skills. With Lexia's instructional product for non-proficient readers in grades 6 and above, you will be able to:

  • Address the instructional needs of a wide range of adolescent reader profiles

  • Motivate and challenge students to take ownership of their learning.

  • Engage students with complex texts and prepare them for college and career
